About TaxiwayClosed AI
TaxiwayClosed AI is built by ETWINTECH LTD to solve one specific problem for pilots: surface closures hidden inside long NOTAM packages. An AI agent reads the whole package and marks each closed taxiway or runway with a cross on the airport map.
Awareness and training aid. Always verify official NOTAM briefings, current charts, approved EFBs, ATC, dispatch, and company procedures before any real operation.
Why we built TaxiwayClosed AI
Before a flight, a pilot has to work through the NOTAM package for the departure, destination, and alternate airports. In practice that package can run to dozens of pages of abbreviated, all-capitals text, and the one line that matters most — the taxiway or runway you were planning to use is closed — can be buried anywhere inside it. Missing a surface closure during flight preparation is easy to do and has contributed to real-world runway and taxiway incursion risk across the industry.
TaxiwayClosed AI exists to make that one problem smaller. Instead of asking a pilot to scan every line, an AI agent reads the entire NOTAM package for an airport, identifies the notices that describe surface closures, and draws a clear cross directly on the affected taxiway or runway on the airport map. The goal is simple: turn a wall of text into a picture you can read at a glance, so NOTAM review becomes one of the faster parts of flight preparation instead of one of the most tedious.
Who makes it
TaxiwayClosed AI is developed and published by ETWINTECH LTD. We are a software team focused on turning dense aviation information into clear, visual tools. TaxiwayClosed AI is our app for airport surface NOTAMs; it is available on the App Store and Google Play, and this website is its home on the web.
We are deliberately careful about what the app claims. TaxiwayClosed AI is an awareness and training aid — not an official aviation source, and not a certified operational system. Every closure the agent maps is an interpretation of NOTAM text, and every page on this site repeats the same message: verify with official NOTAMs, current charts, approved EFBs, ATC, dispatch, and your company procedures before any real operation. You can reach us at contact@etwintech.com.
How does the AI agent work?
When you search an airport, the agent pulls the current NOTAM-style information for that field, decodes each notice field by field — location, subject, condition, and schedule — and matches the described feature against the airport's surface geometry. Where it can place a closure confidently, it draws a cross on that taxiway or runway and shows the original NOTAM text, the effective dates, and a confidence indicator alongside the map. Where a NOTAM is ambiguous or a feature is not clearly mapped, the app shows lower confidence so you know to read the raw text carefully. You can read more about this on our AI NOTAM parser and data sources and limitations pages.
Who is it for?
TaxiwayClosed AI is built for anyone who reads NOTAMs: airline crews and general-aviation pilots doing pre-flight NOTAM review, dispatchers building a picture of an airport's surface, and student pilots learning to read NOTAMs for the first time. If you are new to NOTAMs, our NOTAM training for student pilots guide walks through how to read a notice from the ground up. However you use it, the app supports your review — it does not replace the official briefing.
